The Advanced Venipuncture/Injection Arm is a comprehensive simulation tool designed for practising IV therapy, phlebotomy, intramuscular, and intradermal injections. This advanced training arm features soft, flexible fingers moulded individually with lifelike detail, including fingerprints, and a wrist with natural flexion to help students develop realistic manipulation skills.
An 8-line vascular system allows venepuncture at all primary and secondary locations, including starting IVs and introducing over-needle IV catheters. The dorsal surface of the hand includes injectable metacarpal, digital, and thumb veins, while the antecubital fossa features the median cephalic, median basilic, and median cubital veins. Additional sites include basilic, cephalic, accessory cephalic, and median antebrachial veins.
Intramuscular injections can be performed in the deltoid muscle, and intradermal injection sites on the upper arm produce characteristic skin welts when using distilled water. The replaceable skin rolls during palpation, and a realistic “pop” is felt when entering veins. Valves are visible and palpable on the skin surface, adding to the authenticity. Under normal use, hundreds of injections can be performed before replacement is needed.
