The Prostate Examination Simulator is an essential training tool for teaching and practising prostate examination techniques safely and effectively. The simulator includes four interchangeable prostate glands, each representing different conditions: one benign gland and three stages of prostatic carcinoma in varying degrees of development. Each gland can be inserted into the torso for realistic rectal palpation, providing hands-on experience in identifying abnormalities.
Stages include:
- Stage A – Benign, slightly enlarged, but otherwise normal prostate gland
- Stage B – Discrete hard nodule in the upper right quadrant, simulating early carcinoma
- Stage C – Carcinoma spread with enlarged nodule forming an external hard mass
- Stage D – Entire gland replaced with carcinoma, hard and irregular texture
