The Non-Pitting Edema Trainer is designed to represent the non-pitting stage of oedema, also known as brawny oedema—a hard, fibrotic tissue that does not indent when pressed. The lifelike simulated tissue feels rock-hard, making pitting impossible and providing a realistic tactile experience for learners.
For comparison, the trainer also includes a Stage 3+ (6 mm) oedema pad with deep pitting that remains briefly when pressure is applied. This dual setup allows learners to practise assessment of stages, depth, rebound time, and the feel of non-pitting tissue, making it an invaluable tool for clinical education and patient care training.
